Library Rules & Regulations

To maintain a safe and welcoming environment for reading, learning and other library activities for our users, please adhere to the following rules and regulations in the Senior Library:

  • Food and drink are not allowed in the library with the exception of hot drinks in Tanglin Travel cups or personal flasks and water in bottles
  • Bags are allowed only after school hours (applicable for Year 7 to Year 11)
  • After school, students are allowed one bag. Any others should be left in the bag drop in the Interactive Zone (applicable for Year 7 to Year 11)
  • The Reference Zone is for quiet study; please limit conversations to the Interactive and Collaborative Zones
  • Please remove your shoes before putting them on benches, cushions, or other seating
  • Share the space—Keep your belongings within your seating area
  • Unattended belongings will be removed by library staff if left for more than 30 minutes to make room for other students and staff
  • Be responsible for your belongings – the library will not be responsible for personal items that are lost, stolen, or damaged on library premises
  • Please switch mobile devices to silent mode before entering the library
  • Take your phone calls outside the library premises
  • Respect all staff and other library users
  • Library users will be asked to leave the library if they are causing any disturbance to others
  • Photography and recording are not allowed without prior permission
  • No damaging, defacing, or misusing any library materials or property
  • Please ensure that library materials have been properly issued by a library staff member or through a self-check station before leaving the library
