Red Dot Book Awards

The Infant Library is pleased to announce its annual participation in the Red Dot Awards.  The Red Dot Awards is a collaborative reading challenge organised by the International School Libraries Network (ISLN). Librarians in participating schools have curated lists of the best new books in several categories. In selecting the books, particular attention was paid to choosing titles representing a diverse range of authors, illustrators, and characters. Children in the participating schools read the books and then vote on their favourite, with the winning author in each category receiving an award from ISLN.

Books from the Red Dot Awards, Early Years shortlist will be read aloud to the children during their library time, throughout this half- term and during term two.  Children are also welcomed to borrow the books to take home. Children are encouraged to think critically about the books they read and are given the opportunity to vote on their favourite in April 2024.  Votes from all the participating international schools are tallied and the winner announced in May 2024.

You can view the Red Dot Awards, Early Years shortlist here. Parents may also borrow books from the collection beginning Monday, 20th November. However, there is a limit of one book at a time for a one week borrowing period.
